PM Group acquires Greene Engineers a US specialist engineering company on the West Coast and announces plans to expand its East Coast presence.
PM Group is continuing its global expansion programme in the US by acquiring a well-established US engineering company, Greene Engineers, in San Jose in Silicon Valley on the West Coast. The company also announced today that it is to expand its office in Boston.
Speaking about the continued expansion, Pat McGrath, PM Group CEO said, “The acquisition of Greene Engineers, a specialist engineering company with expertise in the Advanced Technology, Cleantech, Greentech and Life Sciences sectors, will create a solid base from which PM Group can expand in and capitalise on the US market. US multinationals like Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Abbott, Merck, Diageo, 3M, Dell and IBM make up two thirds of the Group’s business so this is an exciting move for us.”
Greene Engineers is a well-known engineering services firm in Silicon Valley, the world leading centre for innovation and growth in technology, with some of the world’s leading blue chip companies listed as its clients, including IBM, Stanford University and CBRE. The company which has a turnover of US$5 million has particular expertise in advanced building criteria such as BREEAM and LEED and employs 30 people. The company will change its name to PM Greene Engineers from today.
“This acquisition represents our first in the US. It’s a high quality niche business which will enhance our existing expertise in the Life Sciences, Advanced Technology, R&D and Healthcare Sectors and will allow us to enter the growing cleantech and greentech sectors with excellent credentials. The company will be at the centre of PM Group’s vision to create a centre of excellence focused on cleantech, biotech and advanced technology in San Jose, Silicon Valley,” said Pat McGrath.
“We have been planning this move for some time and believe that we have found the right company in Greene Engineers. It complements our existing expertise and provides an opportunity to gain market share in the US. The company itself is a good fit for the Group and we very much welcome our new employees. PM Group has had a presence in Boston for quite a number of years and we’re looking forward to building our business there in the near future.”
“This is yet another step in our global expansion plan. We now have 1,700 employees working in over 25 countries and look forward to maximising the opportunity which the US market presents,” he concluded.
