Weyerhaeuser’s Groundbreaking Ceremony in Gdansk

Weyerhaeuser, one of the world's largest forestry products companies, recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new fibre conversion facility in Gdansk, Poland.

PM Group has been involved with this project since its inception in January 2010. Our responsibilities include concept, building permit and tender design and we are currently providing construction management services for the facility which is due to commence operations in 2013. Michał Dądajewski from the Warsaw office is our Project Manager for this development.

This plant is key in Weyerhaeuser’s European expansion. It will receive bleached pulp fibre produced in the United States and convert it into a form suitable for absorbent hygiene products manufactured by Procter & Gamble.  Located in Gdansk-Kokoszki, the state-of-the-art facility will be built to the highest safety and environmental standards.

PM Group’s close working relationship with Weyerhaeuser’s partner Procter & Gamble was a key factor in securing this project. PM Group is also currently working on a development for Procter & Gamble involving a brownfield expansion in Warsaw.
