Partnering with the Moscow Architectural Institute, Devereux Architects topped a very strong global field to be selected for this project.  Over the coming months, plans for the 150,000 hectares to the South West of Moscow will be developed.  These include a new international financial centre, housing and social infrastructure, new education and scientific centres and manufacturing industries. The plan will also ensure the preservation of the areas valuable natural resources.

The masterplan will set out the development over the next 30 to 50 years with the implementation of the first stage expected to cover the next 10 years.

Duncan Ecob, Devereux’s Urban Design Director, said about the project, “It is incredibly exciting to be involved in the significant expansion of a major world city. This type of project has not been undertaken before and we are eager to ensure that Devereux Architects make a valuable contribution to such a great development opportunity for Moscow”.

Alexander Asafov, Principal Architect in the Moscow office, said, “We are delighted to be involved with this important project with our colleagues at the Moscow Architectural Institute.
