Environmental Assessment for CCGT Plant
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) appointed PM Group to carry out an environmental assessment on the Janub CCGT Power Project in Azerbaijan as part of a loan preparation.

Environmental Assessment for CCGT Plant

This project involves the construction of 780 megawatts (MW) of new generating capacity to replace the existing 1,050 MW Shirvan Thermal Power Plant (Shirvan TPP).

Specifically, PM Group was responsible for conducting a risk analysis of possible environmental issues associated with the construction and operation of the new combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) unit and associated facilities such as new switchyards or transmission lines.

Based on the outputs from the risk analysis and impact assessment, the PM Group team prepared an Environment Management and Monitoring Plan which identified all the necessary mitigation measures required during the construction and operation of the new plant, all environmental parameters to be measured, key performance indicators to measure AzerEnergy’s overall performance in achieving environment compliance, and monitoring and management responsibilities.
