Job Title: Facilities Project Manager

We are currently seeking to recruit a Facilities Project Manager for a client based in Galway.  The Facilities Project Manager will play a key role in developing and managing the multi-year Facilities Master Plan for the site.   This is a contract role for a minimum of 18 months, which may extend further. 


  • Coordinate the multi-year facilities master plan and forecast key space requirements across multiple business services
  • Develop and coordinate robust capital forecasts across the portfolio of construction projects running concurrently and forecast expense budgets that are required in support of the capital programs
  • Prepare construction project cost estimates in line with periodic financial forecasts
  • Provide construction estimates for unplanned and/or urgent business scenarios arising from new business opportunities previously unforeseen
  • Coordinate commercial contracts with the key construction service providers; civil, mechanical & electrical utilities and architectural/ engineering design
  • Establish an effective program management system that ensures projects are executed successfully [Safety, Performance, Schedule and Budget]
  • Develop a set of project management tools and reports that effectively update project team and stakeholders on progress
  • Develop an appropriate change management process that ensures all construction variances are approved upfront at the required financial approval level
  • Establish and manage project management updates at the various internal & external leadership stakeholder level
  • Lead tender bid analysis with key stakeholder leads from indirect sourcing, finance and end client organisation
  • Routinely research best practises across the Irish construction industry that ensures that the site is realising excellent value in the market place
  • Support ad-hoc requirements as needed (examples:  Ops and R&D Strategy Development, Internal Benchmarking, Utilisation Studies, Transportation Studies, Planning Applications and Training)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business preferred but not mandatory
  • 7 - 8 years’ + experience in portfolio project management required
  • PMP accreditation preferred
  • Experience with commercial tenders and quantity surveying costings desirable
  • Experience with both construction and client companies an advantage
  • Ability to focus on the big picture and develop perspective on future large scale construction projects running concurrently and across a 4 year time horizon
  • Ability to translate strategies to meaningful plans that can be executed successfully
  • Quickly form construction cost estimates to support scenario planning across the various business teams on site
  • Ability to build relationships both internally and externally and comfortable working at all levels of the organization
  • Strong communicator and influencer working with various external contract companies, local authorities and internal senior management.
  • Collaborate across all manufacturing/quality and NPD functions and extended Europe & Corporate functions
