A key role of responsibility and development for our BIM and design led work which will require a collaborative approach towards execution on projects as well as our overall BIM Strategy for the UK.

This role will cover all BIM applications (2D, 3D, Analysis and Data Tools) necessary to support Digital Project Delivery. These include but are not limited to Autodesk (AEC) Suite of Software, Integraph 2D/3D Design & Visualisation Tools and other specific software tools as determined by our client and project needs.

Job Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the UK BIM Strategy including:
    • Alignment with PM Group global BIM vision & the Information Systems Digital Strategy.
    • Liaise with User Groups (Operations, Services and Sectors) to develop a strategy around improvement /innovation areas.
    • Ensure our standards and practices are compatible with international standards where appropriate.
  • Provide an improvement and deployment roadmap including timescales and potential budget requirements.
  • Lead and initiate innovation on BIM Applications to ensure PM Group remains to the fore in Digital Project Delivery, and our execution approach is aligned with “Best in Industry Class”.
  • Interface with the Information Systems (IS) Group with regard to hardware, software and infrastructure development to support our BIM and Multi-Office- Execution (MOE) Strategy.
  • Develop a BIM Applications Department in the UK operation to encompass BIM Administration, Model Management and Clash Management.
  • Lead the development and roll-out of consistent procedures and workflows for the administration of BIM applications.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of UK Office Templates, Libraries, Seed Files with respect to BIM Applications.
  • Put structures in place to ensure a centralised, standardised BIM delivery for all projects throughout the UK operations.
  • Support our Architecture & Engineering (A&E) teams with the overall BIM strategy/improvements which are required, provide guidance and training as required.
  • Develop and manage a strategy for licensing / upgrades for Office BIM Applications Software, including installation, configuration and maintenance of products.
  • Become an active member of the PM Group BIM Bureau.
  • Develop, track and record quality and service level KPI’s to ensure we meet the needs of our internal and external customers.
  • Work with our clients to support the development of their Digitalisation Strategy, ensuring we maximise the Business Development potential for the UK.
  • Interface with clients to establish and facilitate data handover to client operations.
  • Undertake the setup and administration of multi-discipline detailed design projects using Revit and other 3D tools from the Autodesk AEC Collection suite of products.
  • Undertake administration and integration of third party models into the BIM environment.
  • Setup and support for multi-office work-share using Revit over Citrix.
  • Test and roll-out new software and add-ons.
  • Troubleshoot issues and liaise with team and software provider.
  • Other assigned duties as reasonably requested.

Requirements & Experience

  • Preferably Degree level qualification in related discipline (e.g. engineering or architecture) or equivalent experience.
  • A formal qualification in Building Information Modelling & Management preferred.
  • Significant hands-on experience in the development, roll-out and administration of BIM Software Tools on large complex projects.
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of Autodesk applications - BIM360 Team or BIM 360 Glue experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ideally experience working across multi-office design projects.
  • Be adaptable and flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Experience of other BIM packages advantageous.

  • Be planned and organised in your approach to work and meeting project deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a creative approach to problem solving, seeking to improve existing ways of working, by finding efficiencies in processes.

  • Strong communication (verbal & written) skills and demonstrable ability to communicate effectively with clients and peers at all levels.
