We currently have a vacancy for an experienced IT Project Coordinator on construction projects for our Clients’ facility including support buildings and systems.

Job Description

  • This role will interface and coordinate with contract design, construction, and estimating resources, and internal Client organizations to enable facility development efforts for Information Technology systems
  • Efforts will include definition of design criteria, development of design concepts, completion of detailed design, development of project budgets, schedules, and safety requirements, and facilitating project commissioning activities
  • Role will also include closure of project and related documentation to transitioning successfully to operational support
  • Accountable for the delivery of IT infrastructure (passive and active) and System Integration on Clients’ Site associated with P127x process

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to

  • Working includes taking various levels of responsibility for, and participation in the development of, project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Day to day direction to General Contractor (GC) Company – in line with Contract requirements
  • General Contractor management, Stakeholder management, Vendor management, working close with SPOC, PE, and Work Group
  • Lead the work group during construction phase, directing PE, SPOC, GC and A&E to fulfil the deliverables of the project
  • Management of Vendor to install and commission relevant IT infrastructure end to end
  • Technically competent on IT infrastructure, systems and protocols
  • Input to CPA development
  • Participating in Design reviews
  • Monitoring and Tracking the General Contractor to ensure the GC delivers the Scope Schedule and Budget
  • Technical and constructability input to Design Reviews, Schedule Development, and Cost Challenges
  • Understanding and implementing the terms of the contract with the GC
  • Input to cost forecasting and reviews
  • Strong Quality of installation
  • Strong Field presence
  • Strong advocate for Safety performance in field (Mandatory Safety Culture Compliance)
  • Full compliance to Client SOPs and policies
  • Working with support groups and other work groups
  • Monitor track, influence and manage from design process, through construction, through OATs / FATs, matching to white paper complete and approved
  • Development of procedures and policies to ensure an effective and efficient delivery of the project
  • Ensuring that the work is being performed to Client policies and expectations. (IMDS/IMCS)
  • Responsible for the development of effective process design deliverables to support all aspects of construction
  • Effective at managing design, construction, and start-up Information Technology systems in semiconductor facilities
  • Effective with reading and interpreting construction contract documents
  • Effective with Low Voltage Communications, and specialty codes
  • Experienced with construction management
  • 7 or more years’ related experience required, RCDD required
  • Able to manage multiple projects effectively, and direct the activities of others
  • Capable of developing telecommunications design concept for information technology systems, and detailed scope documents to support estimators needs
  • Ensure that Network team has included all LAN design disciplines in their scope
  • Engagement with PCG to define budget, obtain funding release, track budget spends and commits, payment of contractors/vendors, project/depreciation settlement
  • Ensure open communication channels to Corporate Services including communication on policies, specs and standards
  • Conduct meetings with CM, A&E, sub-contractors, discipline specialists and IT Ops personnel as appropriate to ensure progress is on schedule
  • Ensure Client direct purchase LAN Equipment is received and stored in the Project’s designated space and that this inventory is accurately documented.
  • Actively Support the Commissioning Activities with the IT-owned Rooms, including Construction Complete, OAT and FAT.  In addition, ensure that the IT scope supporting other Disciplines OAT activities aligns with their need dates

Minimum Requirements and Expectations

  • Bachelor of Engineering, or equivalent. Experience in IT infrastructure end to end and System Integration and Construction Management
  • Industry standard recognised Project Management certification (Prince/PM) with proven work experience. Agile Safe would be an added advantage
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and have a working knowledge of office personal computer applications
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative engineering and design methodologies to support very aggressive program and construction schedules
  • Proficiency with reading and interpreting standard construction documents, schedules, contracts and proposals
  • Familiarity with design, sizing and modelling methods for IT infrastructure and standards end to end
  • Understands commissioning, OATs & FATs
  • Ability to interface with a multi-user customer base
  • Ability to manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity
  • Experience with construction, start-up, and turnover of systems to operational sustaining support would be an added advantage
  • Able to work effectively within a variety of management levels, between the Client and the contractors, as well as outside clients and vendors
  • Effective at problem-solving, including methodologies, research strategies, logical reasoning, critical analysis of information and cooperative learning
  • Ability to resolve conflict and keep everything on track
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Works with a sense of urgency
  • Regularly updates on progress/help needed
