PM Group enters the Czech and Slovak markets

International engineering, architecture and project management firm PM Group has opened new offices in Prague and Bratislava.

The opening of the Czech and Slovak offices is part of PM Group’s expansion plan which saw the recent establishment of operations in Belgium, Sweden, India and the US. PM Group already operates from a network of 21 offices globally.

Michael Shelly, PM Group Managing Director in CEE, notes “PM Group has been expanding its operations in Central Europe for the past 10 years. We have established offices in Poland, Russia, Romania and Bulgaria, and have undertaken projects in more than 10 other CEE countries including Slovakia. While our industry is going through a difficult time in the current worldwide economic downturn, we are continuously looking for opportunities to expand and grow our business. We believe that the Czech and Slovak Republics are countries with strong growth potential and with significant opportunity for PM Group to develop substantial business.”

He continues "We have recruited a highly professional team to run the Prague and Bratislava offices. Roman Zámecník has been appointed as the General Director for the Czech and Slovak Republics and Petr Strejcek and Jan Záhorský have been appointed as Operation Directors for Czech Republic and Slovakia respectively. Marta Rumplíková joins the company as Business Development Director. All four directors were previously with international firm Bovis Lend Lease and put PM Group on an excellent footing to execute significant projects locally."

Shelly adds “The recruitment of these key resources immediately provides PM Group with a very comprehensive management capability and business network and we are already in negotiation with several new and existing customers about our participation on major projects in both countries. While our immediate focus will be on Project Construction Management and Cost Consultancy services, supported by our design capability in Poland and Ireland, we plan to establish architecture and design services in the local market within a short time. Our objective is to grow the business to 100+ personnel within a three year timeframe.”
