Our China team recently handed over International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) ‘Project Swan’ in Zhangjiagang, and the facility has just received its production licence.
The 35,000 sq m development incorporates process technologies for class A and C liquid and powder flavours. The new plant will provide additional capacity of 24,000 tonnes per annum.
“Project Swan was a great success achieving the production licence 3 months ahead of schedule in December.” Said Tony Zha, Project Manager - IFF.
Comprising five main buildings, the Phase 1 project includes production, support functions and utilities. The production building and warehouse achieved LEED Silver certification. Later phases are planned to include spray drying and a future capacity increase.“
Taking 26 months from concept to completion, the combined effort and collaboration between the 20 plus companies involved and over 2,200 workers on site led to successful completion.” Said Max Hong, Project Manager - PM Group.
