Direction and Vision

Our leadership team sets the direction and vision for our employee-owned organisation. We are led by a board of directors, supported by an executive committee. Each brings specialist expertise and commitment to the management of our company.

Board of Directors

PM Group’s Board is made up of executive and independent non-executive directors who are responsible for the strategic leadership and direction of the company.

Between them, the directors bring the range of skills, knowledge and international experience necessary to lead the company. All of PM Group's directors bring independent judgment to bear on issues of strategy, performance, resources, key appointments and standards. The Board has a clear governance framework with defined responsibilities and accountabilities.

Board Members

Brendan Jennings

Brendan Jennings

Brendan is the former Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte Ireland. He has over 30 years’ national and international experience supporting the growth and development of Deloitte Ireland and advising international clients. Brendan is a qualified chartered accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Galway. He has completed strategic and executive leadership programmes at the International Institute of Management Development (IMD), Switzerland. Brendan is currently Chairperson of Glenisk and is on the Boards of Children’s Health Foundation, Galway University Foundation and Business In The Community. He is also a member of the Finance & Resource Committee of University of Galway. Brendan joined the PM Group Board in January 2020 and was appointed Chairperson in July 2021.

 

Anthony O

Anthony O'Rourke

Anthony has been with the company since 1994. Anthony qualified as a Chemical Engineer and has been awarded an MSC in Executive Leadership.  He has held a number of senior management positions including Operations Director for Ireland, the UK and Europe. Anthony is a business leader with an excellent track record in project delivery, organisational change, and building high performance teams. He joined the PM Group Board in 2018 and was appointed CEO Designate in April 2023 and became PM Group CEO on 1 January 2024.

Rosita Fennell

Rosita Fennell

Rosita is a chartered management accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Cork and an MSc in Executive Leadership from University of Ulster. Rosita held a number of senior finance roles in a variety of multinational companies prior to joining PM Group in 2006.  With her extensive experience of finance and operations management, Rosita has supported PM Group’s growth and development in a number of finance leadership roles. 

 

Fred Barry

Fred Barry

Fred Barry was appointed to the PM Board in 2015. He was previously a Director of Uisce Eireann, and was Chairman of the National Transport Authority, Chairman of the National Paediatric Development Board, and a board member of Ervia, the NDFA, CEDR, and various companies within the Jacobs Engineering Group.

Fred was Chief Executive of the National Roads Authority from 2005 to 2015. Prior to that he worked with Jacobs for 25 years, where his management roles included Group Managing Director for the UK and Ireland. He is a Chartered Engineer and is a Fellow of Engineers Ireland and of the Irish Academy of Engineering. He is a UCD Engineering graduate, a Barrister-at-Law graduate of the King’s Inns, and has post-graduate diplomas in Management (Trinity College) and Arbitration Law (UCD).

Liam Foley

Liam Foley

Liam is Director of Strategy and Development at PM Group. A Chemical Engineer, Liam’s expertise in the design, construction management, commissioning and qualification of pharmaceutical and biologics facilities was developed over 30 years working with world leading Life Sciences companies in the USA, Europe and Asia. With PM Group since 1989, he has worked in engineering, project management, operations and business development. Liam joined the PM Group Board in 2013.

 

Bríd Horan

Bríd Horan

Bríd, former Deputy Chief Executive ESB, has significant strategic and governance experience. She is an Actuary and Chartered Director and Fellow of the Institute of Directors. Bríd has extensive experience as a Non Executive Director and is currently Chancellor of Dublin City University, Chair of Nephin Energy Ltd. and of the Irish Cancer Society. Brid is also on the Board of Insurance Ireland.  She joined the PM Group Board in 2019.

 

Helen Keelan

Helen Keelan

Helen has 25 years of senior finance and strategic leadership experience gained in KPMG, Ericsson and Intel. She is familiar with the challenges of both re-structuring and scaling companies globally. She is an experienced Non-Executive Director and is Chair of the Board of Barclays Bank Ireland plc and a Non-Executive Director of Barclays Bank plc. Helen was appointed to the PM Group Board in 2013.

Derek Mowlds

Derek Mowlds

Derek is the Operations Director for Ireland. With the Company since 2003, he has delivered major projects in the Pharmaceutical, Food and Medical Technologies sectors in Ireland, the EU and Asia. Derek was previously Asia Managing Director, responsible for our operations in China, Singapore and India and was based in Shanghai for seven years. He is a Mechanical Engineer with an MSc in Management (UCD) and a Fellow and former Chair of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). Derek is a Chartered Director (CDir) with the Institute of Directors of Ireland.

Andy Rayner

Andy Rayner

Andy is the Group’s Executive Director for pharma and Chief Technology Officer. He has been with PM Group since 1989 and has over 30 years’ experience working with leading global pharma companies on projects all over the world. He is a leading international expert in the design of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. He is a Chemical Engineer and a Fellow of IChemE and also holds a Masters Degree in Executive Leadership. Andy joined the PM Group Board in 2018.

 

Helen Ryan

Helen Ryan

Helen is the former Chief Executive Officer of Creganna Medical. She has over 25 years’ experience in the Medical Device industry with previous roles in product development/research at Medtronic and Tyco Healthcare (Covidien). Helen is an adviser with Enterprise Ireland. She has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from NUI Galway, a Masters in Project Management from UL, an honorary Doctorate from NUIG, and a Life Fellowship from the Irish Management Institute. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers of Ireland. Helen joined the PM Group Board in January 2020.

Pat Ryan

Pat Ryan

Pat is the Chief People and Digital Officer for PM Group. Having joined PM Group as a graduate in 1992, Pat has worked in various senior roles across the Company. Prior to being appointed to the Board, Pat was the Operations Director for the Cork Business Unit following five years as Managing Director for the Singapore Business Unit. Pat has extensive experience in full life cycle project delivery internationally for clients in the pharma, medtech, food and advanced manufacturing sectors. He is a Mechanical Engineer from MTU Cork and holds an MSc in Executive Leadership from University of Ulster.

Allan Schouten

Allan Schouten

As a Board Director of PM Group, Allan is responsible for the Group’s international business units across the USA and Asia. A chartered chemical engineer, and project delivery specialist, Allan has over 30 years international business experience across USA, Europe and Asia. He joined PM Group in 1998 and has led some of our largest most complex Life-science projects across the world for our valued multinational clients. Allan also chairs PM Group’s ESG working group, and is a passionate advocate for decarbonisation.
