Over 100 students in Ethiopia have benefitted from new IT equipment thanks to a PM Group donation via the Camara Education charity.

Camara remarkets and recycles IT equipment from companies. This funds the purchase of new computers to supply to African schools; helping improve the quality of education. So far, Camara have helped 3.7million children.

Our donation has supported children in Mechara Secondary School, a government school which educates 1,220 children. Mechara has received 25 new computers in total and training for 23 educators from Camara, thanks to donations from PM Group and other companies.

Simon Priest from Camara said, “Despite the uncertainty caused worldwide by Covid-19 over the last 2 years, organisations like PM Group allow the continued support of equipment donations to underprivileged schools in regions like Ethiopia. Notwithstanding school closures, lockdowns and other restrictions, Camara staff will continue to deliver its work in very challenging circumstances.”

Paul George, our Birmingham CR Champion added, “It’s great to see the impact we have had in a developing country by collaborating with Camara. We made this donation at the same time as providing some of our local schools with surplus equipment. Despite the distance, it shows just how easy it is to help support education anywhere in the world and we are proud to have had the opportunity to do so.”
