Congratulations to Process Engineer Emma Claxton, who is a finalist for IChemE’s Young Industrialist award this year.

Emma's category recognises the person who best demonstrates chemical engineering skills to address important technical, economic, environmental or social issues.

Her submission focused on two of her active leadership roles. One focused on supporting female’s in engineering, the other in PM Group’s Robotics Technology Initiative.

Her technical roles on in the pharmaceutical sector are also prominent. Emma has driven the implementation of important design solution on significant projects.

“It’s an honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award in my field”, said Emma. “It’s great recognition of the work within PM Group for raising the profile of female engineers, for example through our Women’s Network”.

Emma recently supported the launch of University of Birmingham’s own Spot Robot Challenge. Students will submit proposals to develop innovative design solutions using a Spot Robot. In her capacity of our Robotics Technical Initiative Lead, Emma is one the judging panel for the challenge.
