IChemE's 2018 Global Awards Ceremony was recently held in Manchester and we were delighted to be named among the winners during an evening of celebrating excellence, innovation and achievement in the chemical, biochemical and process industries.

Along with GSK, Suncombe and ITT, PM Group were pleased to be announced as part of the winning entry in this year's Pharma Category. The submission was for designing a fully automated sterile filtration unit; eliminating the risk of contamination, which can happen before or after sterilisation with a manual process.

More than 100 entries made it to the awards final, across 17 different categories including the Biotechnology Award, Innovative Project Award and Sustainability Award.

The big winners on the night were Advanced Plasma Power, University College London, Cadent Gas and Progressive Energy. Their joint entry - Converting Waste to BioSNG - won the Energy and Sustainability category awards and went on to win IChemE's coveted Outstanding Achievement Award.

Ryan Byrne, PM Group's Head of Processing in the UK  said, "Having our contribution recognized for the Fully Integrated Sterile Filtration Unit submission was fantastic. It was great to again see such high quality submissions and winners at this year's awards. IChemE's Global Awards is always a great event in terms of showcasing the great work going on in chemical engineering. It was a privilege to again be a part of it".
