The project team at the MSD Biotech Dublin in Swords recently led an innovative fundraiser to reclaim waste cable and donated the €26,488 proceeds to charity. The donations were made to the charities by Jacobs, PM Group, ADCO, Kirby Electrical and P&S Machinery.

During the course of the fast track project, electrical cable offcuts not used in construction, accumulated. The team on site quickly recognised the potential to use it to benefit a good cause.

Partnership

Partnering with various site contractors, Kirby Electrical collected the electrical offcuts with assistance from ADCO, who also organised the cutting. P&S Machinery removed the cable from site, segregated it and secured the best sale price.

The team on site choose the following charities, who were delighted to receive cheques for €6,622 each:-

  • Focus Ireland
  • St Vincent de Paul  
  • CMRF Crumlin
  • Irish Cancer Society
