PM Group is pleased to be a signatory to the BITCI Low Carbon Pledge. We welcome the publication of the second Low Carbon Pledge report.

We have been working hard over the last number of years to reduce our Scope 1 & 2 emissions and continue to make reductions to our carbon footprint. During 2019, we made significant improvements including:

UN Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions

  • Set a new baseline year as a benchmark for our carbon footprint (CO2e)
  • For the first time we calculated our Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions across the Group

ISO 14001

  • In 2019, our Shanghai office achieved certification to ISO 14001, joining our offices in Ireland and the UK
  • Our Poland and Singapore office are scheduled for certification in 2020.

BREAM in Use certification

  • First certificate awarded to our office in Cork

Client sustainability services

We are in a unique position to assist others to improve their carbon and ecological footprint through our business service. In 2019, we launched a new centre of excellence for sustainable design and project delivery, the Sustainable Design Bureau.

Key services include:

  • Sustainability Assessment (LEED / BREEAM / WELL etc)
  • Energy & Carbon Management (Efficiency, Renewables, Statutory Compliance e.g. nearly Zero Energy Buildings directive)
  • Building Physics including CFD Modelling; Daylighting, etc

We were also pleased to support our client, Janssen Sciences Ireland to achieve LEED Silver certification for two buildings at their Cork facility.

The future

The UN Sustainable Development Goals are helping us to perform better and will be our guide in the future as we look to achieve 50% reduction in our Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

About the BITCI Low Carbon Pledge

The Low Carbon Pledge is a commitment by 58 of Ireland’s leading companies to reduce their Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emission intensity by 50% by 2030.
