STEM Southwest a huge success
STEM careers were in focus as we met the next generation of engineers, scientists, technologists and innovators at STEM Southwest during SFI’s Science Week.
Highlighting STEM careers
This exciting collaboration between industry and academia aimed to inspire and inform young minds of the benefits of STEM careers.
The interactive event in Cork attracted over 1,500 visitors and 60 exhibitors from STEM organisations. Large numbers of post primary students attended, as did their parents / guardians, teachers and guidance counsellors.
“Demand for STEM professionals is set to continue growing stongly,” said Peter O’Sullivan, Process Engineering Manager, PM Group, Cork. “Opportunities will expand for young people to enjoy successful STEM careers. Through our Graduate Programme and internships we offer exciting avenues for young professionals to enter and develop careers in existing and innovative new STEM areas".
