Pernod Ricard’s China whisky distillery takes shape
It has been inspiring to watch Pernod Ricard’s state-of-the-art malt whisky distillation facility rise from the ground in Emeishan, Sichuan.
China's first ever malt whisky distillery
The construction project is up and running and taking on board all the COVID-19 safe working requirements. The highly committed client, contractor, architecture and PM Group teams are collaborating closely in the delivery of this signature project.
“As the buildings emerge from the mountain, the vision of this whiskey’s brand home is becoming clear,” says Barry McFarlane, Project Director.
Pernod Ricard’s US$150m investment will be phased over the next decade. The 13-hectare distillery will incorporate an innovative approach to malt whisky making. This will be the first malt whisky distillery in China. It is due to begin production in 2021.
PM Group has been leading this project since concept design and land selection as EPCM partner.
