Vitro, formerly Pittsburgh Glass Works, is a world leading supplier of automotive glass and related services. The company developed a new 21,000 sq.m. manufacturing facility in Poland with a focus on high-technology, high-content windshields with full surface control to meet the needs of the European premium vehicle market – a market that accounts for approximately 60% of European auto production. 

State-of-the-art technology

PM Group provided multidiscipline design, procurement, project and construction management services to the Client for a new automotive glass manufacturing facility on a 22ha plot in Komorniki (Środa Śląska district) near Wrocław, Poland. 

As well as state-of-art technology lines in the new facility, the Client also created an R&D Centre for the development of innovative products and technologies. The facility is one of the largest production sites in their area of operations – with over 20.000 sq.m. of production area and approx 300 people working on site.

Products manufactured at the Sroda Slaska facility include Sungate® and Sungate EP infrared reflective glass, Solextra® blue glass and SoundMaster® enhanced acoustic glass windshields. 

Previously PM Group was responsible for concept design, building permit design and tender design of past projects for the Client.
