Pittsburgh Glass Works, founded in 1883 as Pittsburght Plate Glass Company at Creighton, Pennsylvania, is a world leading supplier of automotive glass and related services. In 2016 The Mexico-based glassmaker VITRO has bought Pittsburgh Glass Works LLC for $310 million.  PGW, developed a new 21,000sqm manufacturing facility in Poland with a focus on high-technology, high-content windshields with full surface control to meet the needs of the European premium vehicle market – a market that currently accounts for approximately 60% of European auto production.  The Polish facility is first and the one and only European Factory of PGW.

State-of-the-art technology

We have provided multidiscipline design, project and construction management services on engineering design, procurement and construction management services to Pittsburgh Glass Works (PGW) for a new automotive glass manufacturing facility on 22ha plot in Komorniki (Środa Śląska district) near Wrocław, Poland. 

As well as state-of-art technology lines in the Poland’s facility, PGW have also created an R&D Center in their premises where their innovative products and technologies are developed.  It is one of the largest production sites in their area of operations – over 20 000 sqm of the production area and about 300 personnel working on site.

Products manufactured at the Sroda Slaska facility include Sungate® and Sungate EP infrared reflective glass, Solextra® blue glass and SoundMaster® enhanced acoustic glass windshields. Previously PM Group was responsible for concept design, building permit design and tender design for other PGW projects.
