We require an experienced Reliability Engineer for our Client’s team, based in Co. Cavan.

Responsibilities

  • Consulting any SOPs for any job task they may carry out and ensure they fully understand and adhere to the SOP
  • Ensure housekeeping activities are observed and carried out appropriately by all craftsmen working under supervision
  • Establish with the Engineering Manager the departmental goals, schedules and timetables for activities
  • Ensure any hazards or potential hazards reported are followed up by the Project Manager as soon as possible
  • Establish communication lines with all other departments
  • Administer policies and procedures as they apply
  • Plan and schedule work in accordance with plant demand and available manpower
  • Maintain the condition of facilities and equipment to ensure availability and reliability
  • Control all cost and quality of maintenance by assigning work in accordance with availability of employees
  • Control energy systems to ensure optimum utilization of plant facilities
  • Maintain adequate stores stock levels and ensure proper in/out control
  • Manage department finances within the annual organizational plan
  • Deputise for other Engineers in their absence
  • Ensure all client employees and contractors that report to this role are fully familiar with all Safety Rules and regulations
  • Ensure all efforts are made to reduce product cost by improving efficiencies
  • Ensure engineering work orders are carried out in a timely and safe manner while maintaining adherence to GMP
  • Ensure all work order forms are completed in full
  • Ensure all P. M’s plant forms are completed accurately and maintained accordingly
  • Ensure all employees follow correct procedure when carrying out hot work and confined space entry ensuring work permits are fully in compliance with SOPs
  • Maintain all Personal Protective Equipment and ensure all PPE are serviced and calibrated on time.  Ensure certificates for all safety equipment are available.  Ensure full stock of PPE is always available
  • Support Business Excellence initiative in the plant
  • When working on equipment ensure the correct lockout – tagout procedure is adhered to
  • Ensure adherence to Working from Heights Code of Practice is followed
  • Change where update procedures to GMP, EHS, Technical/New Equipment, Quality Procedures & SOPs are made
  • Independently plans and coordinates activities within the maintenance excellence program
  • Assigns responsibilities for team members. Develops a budget. Manages multiple, often concurrent
  • Maintains project controls and reporting for cost, scope and schedule. Develops execution strategy, including procurement
  • Independently performs economic analysis and feasibility studies
  • Supports the start-up of new facilities in the development of their maintenance strategy
  • Independently gathers maintenance and manufacturing performance data (MAXIMO, ZARPAC, etc.), and performs analysis
  • Provide a centralized, strategic look across equipment performance (downtime), material, component failure analysis, and changeovers
  • Predicts patterns trends. Grasps complexities and sees relationships among data; determines consequences and alternatives; makes recommendations; analyses problems from multiple perspectives
  • Improves maintenance processes
  • Facilitates root cause analysis for equipment downtime
  • Develops and executes reliability studies and evaluations of equipment robustness
  • Mentors others by sharing information and providing feedback and guidance
  • Interfaces frequently with inter-organizational and outside customer contacts
  • Builds relationships. Initiates and cultivates open, honest relationships with colleagues, customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Complies with all regulations and standards for quality, environmental, health, safety, and energy (EHS&E) global policies, client engineering standards, and other governance areas as applicable
  • Ensures quality and effectiveness of assigned tasks
  • Has awareness of the potential consequences of changes to established processes
  • Identifies areas of risk with respect to compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, science or closely related discipline is desired, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence
  • 5+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience is desired. Additional post-graduate education may contribute towards the desired years of experience.  Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree or related experience is preferred
  • A balance of industrial and mechanical engineering principles, data analysis, process improvement techniques, and problem-solving
  • Possess a strong technical knowledge of maintenance programs.  Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Familiarity with 'reliability centred maintenance' is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to understand and use statistical based software is preferred
  • Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintenance, and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators
  • Possess interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences
  • Technical background in health care - laboratory diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or similar industries
  • Identifies and quantifies technical risks and their consequences relative to the success of part of a project; recommends appropriate action
  • Decisions or recommendations would typically achieve department/project objectives
