PM Group is proud to be a signatory to the Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI) Low Carbon Pledge with over 50 other large businesses in Ireland across many different sectors. The Pledge commits us to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030.

“The Pledge demonstrates our commitment to reducing our carbon emissions and requires us to disclose our scope 1 and 2 emissions on an annual basis. The data will be used to produce an annual report that tracks our progress as a collective and highlights best practice which can be shared with the wider business community. It is great to see RTE highlighting the importance of the BITCI Low Carbon Pledge through their Climate Change initiative. The more businesses sign up, the better chance we have of helping to reduce Ireland’s carbon emissions,” said Dave Murphy, CEO, PM Group and BITCI Board Member.

PM Group - Progress

PM Group is committed to reducing carbon emissions from both our global office operations and the projects we design and deliver on behalf of our clients.

In 2019, we launched a specialist services business unit, The Sustainable Design Bureau, to focus our key people and company expertise on delivering sustainable buildings and projects.

We are ahead of schedule to meet our Low Carbon Pledge commitment of reducing our carbon footprint (scope 1 & 2 emissions) by 50% by 2030 for our Ireland offices.

We are now focussing on our international offices across the world.

Circular Economy

At PM Group the circular economy is a key part of our project delivery service. We adopt the cradle to cradle philosophy within our design approach. We try to ensure we maximise the efficiency of our natural resources. The simple Reduce Reuse Recycle thought process is very much at the forefront of our sustainable design – it is the natural way we want to deliver projects for our clients.

Optimising design and delivery

There are many elements to a circular economy, which we assess as part of optimising our project delivery on behalf of clients; Optimising product design through alternative production processes and modular design;  Maximising our natural capital through the use of sustainable materials selection, heat recovery, water reuse and renewable energy systems; and collaborating with our supply chain partners to reduce waste including the development of the Standardised Components (SDDTM) for the pharmaceutical industry and to a more equitable, sustainable procurement process.
